Our History
Graphic Memory Internet Services, Inc, is a full-service web design and marketing company founded by Jim Gervais and established in July 1998. We are located in historic Downtown Hampton, Virginia in a 1600 sq. ft. office suite we have occupied since 2004.
The Company's roots began with retail e-commerce in 1994 with a partnership developing and managing an online natural health store. The experiences gained during the early years of the Internet has been the foundation to our current success.
We have designed hundreds of custom websites from corporate, organizational, non-profit, government and special event web presences to e-commerce and other online sales applications. Although our focus has been on Hampton Roads, Virginia businesses and organizations, we have clients across the United States.
We are experts in all aspects of designing a successful web presence process from graphical design and layout, latest professional standard coding, reliable web site hosting and domain management, future maintenance and, of course, Internet marketing.
Our philosophy of development centers around designing your website towards effective natural search engine optimization from its inception. The overall result has been our clients possessing a website that actually works for them.

Our Business Model
Project Management Based Process
Our business model is based on competent and experienced project managers that work closely with a wide range of sub-contractors employed based on their specific experience and areas of expertise.
Over our 20+ year history, we have developed long-term working relationships with proven WordPress and code developers, content writers, and numerous Internet marketing specialists that we employ based on our client's specific need.
Thus, if you compare our websites to others, you find we all seem to develop great looking homepages. However, the meat, or internal content, of a website typically suffer from lack of content or balanced layout. We also ensure we employ SEO best practices to all of our new website projects by implementing strong page titling and meta descriptions along with setting up Google Analytics and uploading site maps.
Website Building & Management Experts
Building great business and organizational web sites has been our specialty from our inception! Websites are custom designed to convey the image that's right for your company. We start our projects with Photoshop mockups so you see what you are getting through the whole process.
We also provide website maintenance services invoiced only as you need us. Updates are performed within one business day of receiving them.

Hosting & Domain Name Management
Graphic Memory operates and manages its own web servers through InMotionHosting (IMH), a nationally-ranked ISP headquartered locally in Virginia Beach, VA. Having full control over our server's setup, we host the majority of our clients on them where we have employed extra layers of security that successfully block constant hack, spoofing and spamming attempts.
We also register and manage many of our client's domain names through our partner registrar, Enom. Enom is also a nationally-ranked domain registry service managing millions of domains worldwide.
MS Office 365 Cloud Mail & Products Reseller
We are an approved reseller of Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Mail and software products through AppRiver. AppRiver is one of a few Microsoft approved support entities for their products.

About The Owner
Jim Gervais jumped into Internet development in 1994 after prior stints as a Domino's Pizza store manager (1981-1985) and a transportation manager for Dot Foods, a major Mid-West food distribution company operating out of New Castle, Delaware (1985-1994).
He gained substantial experience with e-commerce development and marketing for the Advanced Nutrition health food chain here in Hampton Roads, Va. from 1994-1998.
In July 1998, he started Graphic Memory out of his house in Hampton, Va. The company grew to establishing a business office presence with the lease of a 1600 sq, ft. office suite in Downtown Hampton in 2004.
Mr. Gervais possesses an AA in Electrical Engineering from Delaware Technical College and a BA in Business Administration from St. Leo University. He lives in Hampton with his wife, Brenda, and 14 year-old son, Joe. Their daughter, Jamie, is a graduate of VCU and resides in Arkansas.
